Want in on a secret?
Caregivers are always one “thing” away from losing our shit.
So isn’t it time to stop pretending everything's fine?
When was the last time you ugly cried in the shower, screamed loud enough for the person in the car next to you to give you the look, or just sat in the corner hoping and praying for a much needed break.
Yesterday? Me too.
Funny thing is when someone asks "How are you?" you find yourself responding automatically with "I'm fine", even though you're running on fumes, your brain feels like mush, and you can't remember the last time you actually felt like yourself?
Yeah. Me too.
And I’m here to tell you that as a caregiver, it’s normal to feel like you’ve lost a piece of yourself and that the exhaustion, resentment and frustration you’re feeling is somehow selfish.
None of that is abnormal or selfish…
In fact, if you’re a caregiver, you know the script we’ve been given: put their needs first, keep a smile ready, push through exhaustion because they need you. And never ever let them see you sweat.
You learned to downplay your own aches, your unsettled stomach, the way your energy dips midday, the nights you lie awake replaying worry after worry. Why, because somewhere along the line we all have been told it’s our job as a caregiver to do so without regard for our own health and well-being. And besides that who has time for anything else? Right.
You’ve probably been ignoring all that’s going on with you, hoping that it just goes away. Me too. But it doesn’t work that way. Those physical signals that keep getting louder are the language of a body under stress wanting relief. That inflammation, disrupted digestion, hormone shifts, weight resistance are changes in your neurotransmitters that affect mood, focus, and resilience.
Who knew?
Not me, until I cracked the code and realized that pretending everything is fine wouldn’t fix what was happening inside. The code…is that how we feel and how our systems function together all starts in the gut. When the gut and brain are out of sync, no amount of “positive thinking” works, and gratitude lists certainly won’t carry you through the exhaustion and anxious spirals we navigate every day.
Did you know?
Your gut produces 95% of your body's serotonin—the "happy chemical" everyone talks about
Millions of nerves physically connect your digestive system to your brain
When your gut microbiome is out of balance, your mental health pays the price
Stress, poor diet, and the constant demands of caregiving create a vicious cycle that depletes your gut health—which depletes your mental wellness
Translation: That anxiety, brain fog, and bone-deep fatigue? It's not a character flaw. It's your body’s chemistry telling you it needs help.
So what do you do?
We listen to our bodies differently and give it the support it needs EVERY DAY:
Notice the signals. Ongoing digestive issues, low energy, sleep disturbances, and heightened irritability are more than inconveniences — they’re clues.
Meet the body where it is. Small, consistent choices that support gut health (simple, regular meals, hydration, gentle movement, and stress/cortisol support) help rebuild that connection.
Prioritize rest and recovery as nonnegotiable caregiving tools, not luxuries you only have when everything else is finished.
Find support that understands all that you have going on, physical, emotional, and practical, because healing is as much about community and boundaries as it is about food and supplements.
You can’t just pretend everything is fine and expect your body to follow along. Becoming a steadier, healthier and clearer caregiver that prioritizes yourself is not less devoted, it’s sustainable.
Fact: You're not broken. How you feel isn’t permanent.
You're just fighting a battle without the right weapons.
The key to feeling better, I’m talking really, genuinely better, isn’t in a meditation app, in a social media feed or on the latest podcast, but actually starts by supporting your body. Wouldn’t it be worth it to be able to do all the caregiver things with less stress, lower cortisol, reduced anxiety, better weight management and improved mental health? It’s possible and the place to start is the gut.
When you heal your microbiome, you give your brain the foundation it needs to:
Think clearly without the fog
Start caring about things that matter to you
Handle stress without falling apart or spiking your cortisol
Feel motivated instead of just going through the motions
Actually have energy for your life, not just your to-do list
This isn't about adding more to your plate. It's about giving your body what it's been begging for….Relief that can be found in
Solutions That Actually Work
I've spent years researching and testing natural solutions for caregivers like us, and have put together some packages that will help you. Don’t see what you are looking for, reach out and I’ll help you customize a protocol that will work in your life.
1. The Caregiver Health Pack - For improving mood, sleep & immunity
As a caregiver we are constantly stressed out, anxious, sleeping like crap and spending lots of time in doctors office or emergency rooms. And we don’t have time to be under the weather or struggling with our mental wellness. This Caregiver health pack will give you the support you need to improve your mood, help you feel rested, get better sleep and give your immune system a fighting chance.
What it does: Supports gut health/immune system, stress resilience, and sleep quality from the inside out.
Who it's for: The caregiver who's tired of white-knuckling her way through every day.
2. Caregiver Cortisol Fix: Finally, Support That Reduces Stress/Anxiousness
Being a caregiver can be so stressful and cause your cortisol levels to skyrocket. Our bodies natural defenses protect us from high levels of stress, but sometimes because our lives are filled with so much unpredictability and intensity we get stuck there. This fix works to not only help support your gut microbiome so your body can recover from taxing situations, but also helps your mood throughout the day while maintaining healthy cortisol levels.
What it does: Supports gut health, stress resilience, and mood from the inside out.
Who it's for: The caregiver who's cortisol levels are thru the roof and they can’t get out of fight or flight.
