When my husband was in an explosion while serving in the US Army, everything changed. He lost his leg, suffers from a TBI and PTSD, and I put my life on hold to become his caretaker.
Overnight, my life became logistics. Strength became survival. And my needs quietly disappeared behind everyone else’s.
It wasn’t until much later when I found myself screaming at the world while sitting alone in my car, that I realized what was missing.
Me.
